I Feel Like These Are Somehow Extraordinarily Obscene

Share
Dear Fellow Lip-Balm-Loving Crafters,

I can see what you're going for here. I really can. You've decided that you love your lip balm enough to bestow upon it a special lip-balm-cozy, and god bless you for your creative gumption. What I'm calling foul on here, though, isn't the relative pointlessness of these laboriously crafted chapstick protectors, shockingly. Instead, I would like to implore you to look, just seriously look, at the bizarre tomfuckery you put together for this purpose. And then maybe you can answer me why the top cozy appears to resemble some kind of massive and generally unnecessary lip-balm lion depository (although the lion does seem to be enjoying it an awful lot, I'll give you that), and the bottom one, well, I won't even go there.

Seriously people. Think these things through. If you have to put your chapstick away by shoving it up a felt lion's gaping ass, or by sliding it inside a dubiously-shaped pastel knitted sock with balls, you have failed.

  1. Not sure why, but I find myself wondering what other kinds of circus animals this person could have crafted to hide other sundry items.

  2. Again, a 5-year-old make these things or what? Mom had figure out something to do with them to avoid hurt feelings.

  3. A lion? Surely not. It's a weiner dog with a badger's head grafted on, so it probably does not care one whit what it might find up its bottom.

The other one, though: you must be correct. It's a pastel gentleman's appurtenance.

  5. Okay.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING that can be described as "Soothing and Cooling" should have a felt or knitted holder. Ever.

    What's next . . . a cover for your Preparation H?

  6. These are just slightly obscene but I doubt the maker of these lip-balm cozies has any idea. The top one, I don't know but pepto comes to mind. The bottom one is another peter heater, a small peter heater (don't worry guys, size doesn't really matter) but one nonetheless.

  8. I don't think chapped lips are that lion's biggest problem.

  10. The only way the bottom one could be any worse is if the opening where at the opposite end of the 'ball' end. Oh, and a flesh color.
