Life Is So Hard Sometimes.

Share

I keep going between these two lovely face-warmers, trying to decide which one I'm going to make for my niece for Christmas. On the one hand, the top picture apparently has a set of knit fingers protruding from the forehead, integrated deep-set wrinkles, and could be trying to slowly digest the child underneath.

On the other hand, the bottom picture is just about the most amazing thing I've ever seen, what with the blue lips/nose combo, the yellow yarmulke with attached fringe, and the copious tufts of ear-hair complete with shiny pink bows.

What to do. What to do.

  1. those would make great criminal activity masks; witnesses would be so mesmerized by them they wouldnt notice any other details about you

  2. I'm not sure those kiddos would be allowed in school wearing those....er....whatever they are.

  3. The kid in the first picture looks sad and doubtful. As in, "mom, why do I have to wear this?".

    And rightfully so.

  4. And thus, the cycle of moms making their children require massive quantities of therapy continues...

  5. Oh GOOD GAWD! Who, in their right freaking mind, would spend time making that?! I'll tell you. A masked serial killer, that's who... and they're passing their psychotic traits onto their kids!!

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  8. I grew up in California, Southern California, and thus was spared the indignity of such things..
of course my Grandmother made up for that by forcing me to 'try on' sweaters so hideous and gut-wrenchingly itchy and awful, it would have brought tears to any child's eyes-too bad I didn't save them...

  9. But what if you always wanted your child to grow up to be a Mexican wrestler?

  10. These are luchador masks...hideous, but still. I see what the crafter was trying to do.

As knit luchador masks, they're actually quite fabulous. As far as knit luchador masks go...
